Welcome to the Spouse/Guest Program

Welcome to this year’s Spouse/Guest Program which will be held September 22-24 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, hosted by Debbie Kessler, wife of AREMA President Jim Kessler. Minneapolis is known as “The City of Lakes” where you will experience the best of a big city set in a lush green environment. Take a stroll around the urban lakes, walk along the historic Mississippi River or enjoy the world-class cultural institutions, theaters, fine restaurants, sporting events and shopping that are unique to Minneapolis.

Our Hospitality Suite will be available to all AREMA registered spouses/guests.  Please join us to meet old friends and to make new ones. This is a place for you to relax while the Conference and Exhibition is in progress. Your name badge will also give you access to the Railway Interchange Exhibition, including all food and beverage options offered in the Exhibition Hall.

Please join us on Monday for a Wine Luncheon and Painting Class featuring Creative Painting Minnesota. You will be guided step-by-step through a featured painting by our instructor, Wanda Mitchell. She is an energetic painter, interior designer, teacher, and event planner. She loves meeting new people and sharing her talents. We will enjoy a uniquely memorable experience and walk away with a finished masterpiece, a 16” x 20” canvas painting. Shipping supplies and prepaid labels will be provided to get your painting home, stress free.

On Tuesday we will visit the outdoor exhibits at the Railyard. Our private, behind-the-scenes tour will begin at 9:30 AM at the BNSF Northtown Railyard. Buses will run every 15 minutes between the Minneapolis Convention Center and the Railyard. You may arrive early to the Railyard and you are welcome to stay as long as you would like. We will enjoy a fun morning together.

We look forward to seeing you in Minneapolis!

*Hospitality Suite is open to all AREMA registered Spouses/Guests.
